The article,” McDonald's threatened with Happy Meals lawsuit," published online on June 22, 2010 on CBC News, describes the McDonald's use of toys as predatory and creepy. Using toys to sell Happy Meals is considered by CSPI (Center for Science in the Public Interest) an illegal practice by McDonald’s, because that way induces children to prefer a food that may harm their health. In addition to that, McDonald’s Happy Meals don’t respect the recommended number of 430 calories per meal for children aged four to eight. Moreover, the sodium content, sugar and saturated are far higher than the recommended amounts. McDonald’s marketing is a key factor in that illegal practice, in interfering in the abilities of parents to raise the healthy children. According to The article, McDonald’s has thirty days to choice between stop its illegal practice or a lawsuit.
